OS Thread
I am swapping from Arch to Artix today because of the whole systemd situation hopefully it goes smoothly.

Just under three weeks on Artix had a few issues with compatibility with games and apps that rely on systemd but nothing that wasn't fixable today however it completely shit the bed never seen anything like it, swapped to CachyOS lol I figured for an Nvidia gaming PC Cachy is the practical choice I just wanna play games. Still running a non systemd OS on my laptop however, Void Linux it is a great OS.

” I still haven't advertised this site anywhere. In the near future I think I'll put up flyers around my school so maybe some local people will join. ”
Sounds like a good idea, it would be cool for more people to join. Maybe also put an ad on 4chan or something. I found this site from a /g/ thread.

” I also made it so that the front page shows every new post on this site. It used to be filtered so that threads like "post butts" wouldn't show up, but I want to try if we could manage without algorithms and filtering. I mainly did that because I submitted this site to my teacher so I'd get some student credits. ”
Yah I think having the most recent posts show up is much better to keep the flow going.

Yup it is working much better now. ”

” I just reset my server and the router. Should work way better now. Dunno why but it sometimes does the trick. ”
Yup it is working much better now.

” Yah running a physical server is way cooler. ”
I just reset my server and the router. Should work way better now. Dunno why but it sometimes does the trick.

I'll go check my server machine tomorrow and do the good ol' reboot trick. Could also be something as simple as a loose ethernet cable.
This site runs on a local physical machine, except that it's not at my house. I could just rent website space from some company and get stability for a few bucks a month, but to me it's a boring way to host a site.

” I don't use a smartphone, but one day I might have to. Are there any Linux-like alternatives in the smartphone world? ”
Yes there are a few, Graphene OS is the most popular I think it only works on Google Pixel phones at the moment but I think it will also work on Motorola phones in the near future. Lineage OS works on many different phones they have a list on their website just search it and you'll find it. Then there is postmarketOS that is also for many different models and then for old phones there is the OG FOSS mobile OS called Replicant but that is barely used today. There's probably more but off the top of my head that’s what I know, I unfortunately don't have the right model phone to use one at the moment that’s why I know so many I have searched far and wide lol.
