I am swapping from Arch to Artix today because of the whole systemd situation hopefully it goes smoothly.

” Yah running a physical server is way cooler. ”
I just reset my server and the router. Should work way better now. Dunno why but it sometimes does the trick.

I'll go check my server machine tomorrow and do the good ol' reboot trick. Could also be something as simple as a loose ethernet cable.
This site runs on a local physical machine, except that it's not at my house. I could just rent website space from some company and get stability for a few bucks a month, but to me it's a boring way to host a site.

” I don't use a smartphone, but one day I might have to. Are there any Linux-like alternatives in the smartphone world? ”
Yes there are a few, Graphene OS is the most popular I think it only works on Google Pixel phones at the moment but I think it will also work on Motorola phones in the near future. Lineage OS works on many different phones they have a list on their website just search it and you'll find it. Then there is postmarketOS that is also for many different models and then for old phones there is the OG FOSS mobile OS called Replicant but that is barely used today. There's probably more but off the top of my head that’s what I know, I unfortunately don't have the right model phone to use one at the moment that’s why I know so many I have searched far and wide lol.

I don't use a smartphone, but one day I might have to. Are there any Linux-like alternatives in the smartphone world?

” What really freaks me out these days is realizing the vast majority of people use Windows 11 and are perfectly fine with it.
This realization just fucks with my head 24/7. People willingly let a capitalist corporation take control of their computer. ”
Most people are not tech savvy and also they are basically slaves they do as they are told by the corps/govs whether they realise it or not it is a sad thing. You can try to tell people but they will not listen. They consider an OS to be trivial even though they use it for work and for socialising and for entertainment and for pictures of their families it is a core part of their lives and they think it is trivial.

People are dumb.

What really freaks me out these days is realizing the vast majority of people use Windows 11 and are perfectly fine with it.

Pop OS! has been my choice for over a year now. It just works. ”
I used to use it for about a year until I figured out Arch wasn't as difficult to use as people make out. Pop is pretty good.
